Japan truly is an interesting country. A parrot that flew away from his home and ended up lost, told the police officers his owner’s home address and telephone number. Thanks to that the bird was safely returned to his owner.

The two year old parrot named Pigo flew away from his home through an open window on April 29. On the next day he was brought to a police department by a man who stayed at a local hotel, saying that the parrot sat on his shoulder. Police officers put the parrot in a cage, RIA Novosti reports.

In the evening of the second day Pigo started talking, mentioning his owner’s home address and telephone number. The police dialled the number, and it turned out to belong to a 64-year-old woman – Pigo’s owner.

The woman explained that five year ago she lost another parrot, Pigo’s predecessor, which was never found. So, two years ago her son and his bride gave her Pigo: the woman taught him how to talk and trained him to say her home address and phone number. Only after the bird learned words like «Hello», «Good morning», «Pigo – good» as well as the names of his owner’s grandchildren.

The police called a special press-conference with 11 photographers and representatives of six television channels. Pigo, however, did not like all this attention – being in the spotlight made him silent and he did not say a word in front of all the cameras
